Lake Kipawa lies in a section of the Laurentian Range. Surrounded by hundreds of other lakes connected by a network of creeks and rivers. It's a vast and virgin wilderness comprising thousands of square miles of wild and quiet beauty. Pines, spruce, cedar and white birch cover this rough, natural landscape. Combined with huge rock formations, the scenery is unforgettable. Kipawa Lake has over 1,000 miles of shoreline and yet is never more than five miles wide. McKenzie Island, at about the center of the lake is 12 miles long and contains 6 small lakes.
From the island, 4 long bays stretch out: to the west, 13 miles to Laniel; east, 22 miles to Red Pine Chutes; south, 15 miles to Jawbone Bay; and north, 17 miles to Hay Bay.
Lake trout, walleye, northern pike and whitefish live in these waters.
