Owner's Comments New Great Lakes Vacation Home! Situated on the scenic Bruce Peninsula which divides Georgian Bay from Lake Huron, this lakeshore home is surrounded by the cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment from north to south, and by Georgian Bay to the east. Recreation Hope Bay is a quiet cottage community ideal for swimming, sailing, and windsurfing; or relaxing by an evening campfire on the lakeshore. The Bruce Trail, a hiker's paradise, passes by the door; follow it to the top of the escarpment for spectacular views, and explore the renowned glacial potholes. Wander in Hope Bay Forest, a provincial Nature Preserve, known for unique geological formations. Visit the famous Larkwhistle Gardens at Dyer's Bay (40 min. drive), and the prize winning Kepplecroft Gardens at Big Bay (30 min. drive). Enjoy horseback riding at Purple Valley (10 min. drive). Sauble Beach (30 min. drive) has vast sand beaches, a golf course, and amusement rides. Several potters have workshops in the area. Or stroll to the local garden/gift shop. Fathom Five Underwater Park at Tobermory (a 45 min. drive), is the site of shipwrecks dating back to the 19th century. Dive amongst them, or explore in a glass bottom boat. Take a boat trip to Flowerpot Island. Board the Chi-cheemaun car ferry to Manitoulin Island, the largest freshwater island in the world.
